Evaluation 1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or change forms and conventions of real media?

As a female solo artist the image created by our artist is crucial to being able to sell our music and the brand. We were heavily influenced by different artists and used a variety of mood boards which helped us pick out clothing to different styles of hair and make up so that when it was time to film we was prepped and ready and able to tackle the task in hand.Charlotte's plays  a very fun , free and empowering role and the clothes which we chose helped to demonstrate to an audience her power of being a woman and the bright colours represented how Charlotte's character was free and fun. We picked the genre Dance so that meant that our dress code, hair and make up and also visual effects had to fit within our music video. The dress code for brightly coloured crop tops signifies summer and her ability to do what she wants to do as in the lyrics Paloma states 'Ive been here for too long'. Charlotte's hair and make up are natural except from her pink lipstick, This is because we didn't want to over use bright colours as our locations and costumes were already bright enough.

Final Digipak

This is our final digipak. We struggled a lot to get it perfect as our drafts were not up to our standards. The digipak as 6 panels with a long picture of an establishing shot we use at the beginning of the video in the inside. On the outside we have three different pictures , 2 which charlotte is looking away in. We decided to do this because it gives an encoding reaction to the audience curious of what the character looks like and what they are looking at/for.

Template to Final Digipak

These are our final Digipak samples. After taking us so long to produce our digipak , have narrowed it down to two. The first top two are more brightly coloured and fit with the theme of the video however the two bottom have a neutral blue theme where it is simple and not too much is crammed in.

4 panel Digipak

This is a draft of a 4 panel digipak that we have created. However will not be using due to the fact 4 panels look extremely boring but we wanted to create one just to see how it actually looked. We have decided that a 6 pannel digipak is the better template

Practise Digipak

When making the digipak I had made it too small and only had 4 panels in the pack. however I didnt want to change the photo's as they looked effective so I just stretched both photos and made the panels a little bit smaller than they already were. However i think the digipak still doesnt look as exciting as it can.

Template of our Digipak

This is the template for our Digipak. We have chose a 6 panelled template as it is simple and easy to access but is also different to the original 4 panelled most artist have. This will also have a cover to protect the Digipak.

Digipak Examples

These are examples of what a digipak looks like. These will be the images that we will follow for us to get the best digipak we can. The Florence and The Machine digipak has notes of what should be included in a digipak.

Magazine Advert Moodboard

These are a few magazine adverts of different artists' albums. We are going to use these as a template to create our own magazine advert. These magazine adverts are for us to use to understand the difference between a magazine advert and magazine cover.

Inspirations and Ideas

Sigma the music producers gave us huge inspiration with song 'nobody to love' his style of video is what we were going for with ours. We wanted the Caribbean setting contrasted with the city life Charlotte was living. The sense of freedom and wanting to escape was our them for our music video as seen in many of Sigmas music videos this influenced our video because it made our storyline fit perfect with our lyrics and gave all of us in the group a vision we wanted to achieve within the music video.
we wanted our locations to fit with the theme of the video, we got inspiration from the real video 'changing' staring Paloma faith, she is dancing and having fun in the streets of Los Angles. we also gained our costume inspirations from this video as Paloma wears bright fun clothes too, this also reflects her edgy personality.
Due to the song being called changing we wanted to go back and forth with locations of Charlotte remembering her holiday to St Lucia and that's where she wants to be not wondering the same streets of London everyday. An example of this is when the establishing shot of Covert Garden is juxtaposed with the clip of the dolphins jumping in the water, this resembles Charlotte's feelings she wants to be free like the dolphins.

Questionnaire results

As you can see from this table these are the results that we have gained from our questionnaires. These answers gave us the basis of what song we was going to do, what costumes would be used and where we was going to film our music video.

Ideas for our Digipak

These are a few idea's that went well with the theme of our music video. We decided to only go for a four panel Digipak due to the 6 panelled Digipak being too complexed. The pictures are various location that are used in the video, our locations were the main focus of the music video to be eye catching when the audience see it.

Mood Board for our scouted locations

These are the locations that we have decided for our final video. We scouted these locations first so we didnt have to waste time finding them on the day.

Our Scouting

This is the route we took when filming our music video. We came out on embankment station and walked towards South bank bridge where we thought we could film our first section on the bridge. We then carried on walking and came across some stairs we walked down to find a really interesting graffiti wall and a brightly coloured red wall where we thought we could film our second and third footage. After that we walked over the bridge back the way we come then started walking through some bendy roads where we found Covernt Garden which was perfect for our last bit of footage.

Spellcheck

The images we have places below show the use of spellcheck. We used spellcheck to correct any mistakes that we made to make our blog look as professional and presentable as possible.

Our group name is Tiger Lime productions, therefore we wanted to impliment part of our group name into the logo picture. These are a couple of ideas that we have come up with which represent both Tiger and the colour Lime.
