Audience Feedback

This is our audience feedback from a media student Jessica. We chose to have a media student do our feedback as she is able to answer truthly on what she likes and dislikes about the video as she has knowledge on the codes and conventions, mise en scene and sound.

Meet The Artist

Charlotte:
Charlottes likes to go out partying and having fun with friends. On the odd occasion she will go out to legal raves and festivals when she has got the money to fund it. Charlotte enjoys her music with her favourite genre of music being Dance/House music, this is because the music is all up beat. She also likes to go dancing which she performs at. Charlottes favourite artist at the moment is David Guetta, as her creates alot of Commercial House.

Charlotte dislikes rock music as she thinks it is scary and doesn't like all the screaming that is performed in Heavy Metal Bands. She also doesn't like being upset as she doesnt see the point in being upset.

Setting and Location, props and costume

Location scouting Our initial thoughts and ideas for our drum and bass music video, were thought up through our survey given to people around the age of 16-25 year olds, they wanted to see things such as city and party life. We also found our peoples favourite drum and bass song of 2014 which resulted in our song choice of changing by sigma feat Paloma Faith. After writing a list of locations that are fun and busy, we resulted in going to London for the day, and going to the embankment bridge to give our audience what they want, a young girl trying to find fun in the city, the skate park scene appeals to our target audience because of the bright colours in the background. Another location we wanted to use was the busy bridge at embankment, we were lucky enough to see some buskers on the bridge that Charlotte could dance around and we could film. Our second main location we chose as a group was to walk to Covent Garden and explore the cobbled streets. As we thought, a lot was going on and there were lots of opportunities for Charlotte to sing and dance around. The reason why we left all the shooting to London and maybe use some of our holiday footage from New York, Barbados and St. Lucia, is because we wanted to keep it fun and simple we don't want to confuse our audience with different locations all over the place. Costume designs Choosing our costume ideas for our main star Charlotte was the easy part of our music video. Our questionnaire helped us choose the style to support our drum and bass video, as our target audience said they want to see bright colours and fashionable clothes. Charlotte was styled in black topshop jeans, and a bright blue and purple cropped button up topshop blouse, she also wore her topshop coat to finish the outfit, we used this look for the embankment bridge scene. Her hair was wavy to give a careless beach look. She wore basic makeup but wore a bright pink Mac lipstick to bring out her green eyes. The second outfit, consisted of the same black jeans and a yellow cropped Cami, she also put over the top a ragged priest spiked limited edition denim jacket. We dressed Charlotte in this for the skate park scene to contrast with the bright colours behind her. Finally Charlotte changed her top to a blue cropped Cami to contrast with her background of the red painted wall.
